Tell us about your past work experience
I initially trained to be a legal secretary, but I knew pretty early on that this wasn’t where I wanted my career to go. After leaving college I joined a recruitment company in a support role and haven’t left the industry since! I’ve worked within Education Recruitment for around six years now and I’ve learnt a lot along the way, and continually learning!
What does your day-to-day entail at The Supply Register?
All things compliance! I complete final sign-offs on all candidate files and ensure all compliance documents are updated where necessary. I’m here to support our other compliance officers when we may have a more challenging file. I’m constantly looking at current legislation to ensure we are fully up to date and working by best practices. I also head up our compliance audits, where I’m very proud to say we have received a 100%-mark award.
How does working at The Supply Register compare to other employers?
Even after just my interview, I could tell how much The Supply Register values their employees. The work-life balance here is just great and something that really did attract me to the company. Even though we’re all based in different parts of the UK, everyone is just a click away and is here for the right reasons. Everyone at all levels is approachable and a great team to be a part of!
How have you progressed since being with The Supply Register?
I’ve progressed in both my professional and personal life since working at TSR. I joined the company as a Senior Compliance Officer and from day one I knew where my career path could go. Around a year and a half later, I was promoted to Compliance Manager!
What do you find to be most rewarding in your role?
It would be working with the other Resource & Compliance Officers. I initially started in that role and have worked my way up, so just giving them the support they need to do the same in their careers. Compliance can be challenging at times but when we get a new staff member who has little or no experience within compliance and then see them thrive in the role, it is just so rewarding. We also can’t forget that our work impacts candidates’ futures too, by helping them get placed into schools that they love!
