My role at The Supply Register is to manage service delivery for the trusts we work within Yorkshire. I have worked in recruitment for over eight years, initially starting in apprenticeship recruitment before moving on to education recruitment.
My remit at The supply register is to deliver customer outcomes and deliver a consistent quality response for the business and the MAT partners in the region.
At The Supply Register, we make sure we fully understand the recruitment needs of the schools in our trusts so that when we are recruiting staff for them, we know how to best match candidates.
The most rewarding part of the job is when a school rings me after interviewing and tells me they want to offer one of our candidates the role or the opportunity to join their staff bank.
That shows that I have understood the school requirements and get to ring the candidate to tell them they have been successful!

What would be your advice to headteachers looking for staff in the current economy?
Act quickly to secure supply staff as soon as possible and look at the range of options available, from temp to perm. With how high the demand for supply teachers is at the moment, it really is important to react as soon as possible to get the best staff for your school.
What advice would you give a supply teacher looking for work right now?
Work with an agency that has taken the time to understand you and what you are looking for. Try different schools to see where best suits your style as a teacher and be open to opportunities that come available.
What do you like most about working in the sector?
What I like most about working in the sector is building relationships with schools and gaining a good understanding of their recruitment needs. As we are a managed services provider, we have an in-depth knowledge of the trusts we work with and how they operate and that is always beneficial to share with candidates. One of the best things about The Supply Register is that it’s a transparent and ethical company to work for and there is a real passion for what we do here.
