The Wade Deacon Trust is seeking to appoint a dedicated Teacher of Design Technology for a long-term position starting September 2025 across one of our Liverpool-based secondary schools. The role will focus on general DT (e.g. product design, resistant materials, graphics), with the potential to include Food Technology depending on your skillset.

Role Overview:

Teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4

Deliver engaging, practical, and theory-based lessons

Contribute to curriculum planning and department development

Potential to teach Food Technology if you have relevant experience

Inspire students to develop real-world skills, creativity, and confidence
Person Specification:

QTS/QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification

Experience teaching DT in a secondary school setting

A flexible approach to teaching different DT specialisms

Strong classroom management and a passion for practical learning

Knowledge of Health & Safety in practical environments (e.g. CLEAPSS guidelines)

Food Technology experience (desirable but not essential)
