About the Role
As an English Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging lessons in GCSE and Functional Skills English to post-16 learners. You will create an inclusive learning environment that motivates students and supports their academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver effective and accessible English lessons (GCSE and Functional Skills)
- Support learners aged 16+ in developing essential literacy skills
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and support
- Contribute to curriculum innovation and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain high standards in teaching, learning, and assessment practices
Requirements
âś… A recognised teaching qualification (minimum Level 5 or equivalent)
âś… A degree in English, English Language/Literature, or a related subject
âś… Experience teaching English (GCSE and/or Functional Skills) in further education or secondary settings
âś… Strong interpersonal and communication skills
