After School Club Assistant
The Eastbourne Academy – Swale Academies Trust, Eastbourne
Part-Time • Monday to Friday, 3:30pm – 5:30pm
£100-110 per day (pro-rata, depending on experience)
Are you passionate about working with children and creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment after school?
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic After School Club Assistant to support our after-school provision. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children in a play-based environment and can help create a positive end to their school day.
We are looking for someone who:

Enjoys working with children and engaging them in fun, age-appropriate activities.

Has experience working with children in a school, childcare, or play setting.

Can confidently supervise children and ensure a safe, inclusive atmosphere.

Communicates effectively with children, colleagues, and parents.

Is creative, proactive, and able to work as part of a team.
Responsibilities:

Support and supervise children aged 4–11 during after school hours.

Organise and lead games, arts and crafts, and other engaging activities.

Prepare and serve light snacks to children.

Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times.

Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns promptly.

Maintain a clean and tidy environment throughout the session.

Build positive relationships with children and families.
Requirements:

Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
-
A calm, friendly, and approachable manner.

Ability to manage a small group of children independently and confidently.

Basic first aid knowledge is desirable (training can be provided).

Must have the right to work in the UK.

Must be able to provide two professional references.

Must hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
