SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)

Are you a passionate and experienced SENCO ready to make a meaningful impact in a challenging secondary school setting?
We are looking for a confident and committed SENCO to lead our SEND provision for one term, starting in September 2025 until Christmas. This is a vital leadership role, supporting students with a wide range of additional needs at The Turing School.
We are looking for someone who:

Has QTS and ideally holds the NASENCO qualification (or has substantial SEN leadership experience)

Brings strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive strategies

Has experience supporting students with complex or high-level needs
-
Can work collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies
-
Is organised, proactive, and solution-focused
Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the school’s SEND provision

Maintain the SEN register and support personalised interventions
-
Ensure compliance with EHCP processes and statutory requirements

Train and support teachers and support staff in inclusive practice
-
Liaise with parents/carers and external professionals
-
Promote a culture of high expectations and inclusion for all students
Requirements:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
-
NASENCO qualification or equivalent SEN leadership experience
-
Experience working in a challenging school or high-needs setting
-
Excellent communication and organisational skills
-
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

Right to work in the UK
