Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for education and customer service? The Supply Register is proud to be supporting Newcastle College in their search for a skilled IT Support Engineer to join their dynamic Information and Data Services team.
About the Role:
As an IT Support Engineer at Newcastle College, you’ll be instrumental in delivering responsive, reliable, and effective IT services to support students, educators, and staff. From maintaining AV systems to supporting digital transformation in the classroom, you’ll ensure that teaching and learning is powered by robust and accessible technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first and second-line technical support across Newcastle College
- Install, maintain and upgrade hardware and software (Windows, Apple, O365, Active Directory)
- Support effective use of classroom technology and digital learning tools
- Maintain and troubleshoot AV systems (e.g., SMART Boards, projectors, video conferencing)
- Resolve service desk tickets promptly and document solutions
- Assist with system upgrades, hardware rollouts, and IT project implementation
- Liaise with internal departments and third-party vendors for issue resolution
- Maintain accurate asset and inventory records
✅ About You:
We’re looking for an adaptable and resourceful technician with:
- Strong experience in desktop support (Windows 10/11, iOS, Apple OS)
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Active Directory and networking protocols (TCP/IP, IPv4/6)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable)
- Experience within the education sector, particularly Further or Higher Education, is an advantage
