The Supply Register is delighted to be working in partnership with NCG to recruit a Hospitality & Catering Support Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with hospitality experience who is looking to build their career in a rewarding education setting. You’ll be part of a thriving college department, supporting staff and students in practical training kitchens and helping the next generation of chefs and hospitality professionals succeed.
The Role
In this role, you’ll provide hands-on support to the Hospitality & Catering team, ensuring that practical lessons run smoothly and safely. You’ll help prepare training kitchens, maintain equipment and supplies, and make sure high standards of hygiene and organisation are met at all times.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical classes

Keep training kitchens clean, safe, and well-organised

Support the setup and close-down of practical sessions

Manage stock, including storage, rotation, and disposal in line with safety standards

Receive and distribute food and equipment supplies

Maintain high standards in all storage areas (dry stores, fridges, freezers, COSHH items)

Coordinate with external providers for services such as laundry and equipment servicing

Follow all relevant health, safety, and food hygiene regulations
What We’re Looking For

Level 2 Literacy/Numeracy (Maths & English) or equivalent

Food Safety & Hygiene Level 2 (or willingness to complete)

Allergen Awareness Training Level 2 (or willingness to complete)

Previous experience working in kitchens or a similar hospitality environment

Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices

A team player with strong organisational and communication skills

Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
