About the Role
The Supply Register are working in partnership with Carlisle College to recruit an Estates Maintenance Assistant for an immediate start. This is a fantastic short-term opportunity to support the Estates team in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-presented environment across the college site.
Reporting to the Head of Estates, you will play a key role in carrying out day-to-day repairs, maintenance, and compliance checks, ensuring college buildings are safe and operational for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities

Carrying out general maintenance and repair works across the college estate.

Undertaking statutory and mandatory tasks such as fire alarm testing, emergency lighting checks, water management, and fire extinguisher inspections.

Setting up rooms and areas for college activities and events.

Assisting contractors on site and ensuring safety procedures are followed.

Acting as a key holder – unlocking/locking premises and responding to call-outs on a rota basis.

Responding to emergencies such as floods or lift evacuations.

Supporting security procedures to ensure a safe environment.

Undertaking training and CPD as required for the role.
What We’re Looking For
-
GCSEs (A–C) in English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications (or willingness to achieve).

Experience within the building trade, facilities management, or similar role.

Good interpersonal and customer service skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
-
Flexibility to work across shifts and respond to emergencies when required.

A proactive, professional approach with commitment to safeguarding, equality, and diversity.
