Are you someone who enjoys leading a classroom and empowering young learners? Whether you’re an experienced educator, a youth worker, a sports coach, or looking to gain valuable school experience, we want to hear from you!
We’re excited to be working with John Taylor Multi-Academy Trust to recruit enthusiastic and reliable Cover Teachers for schools in Burton-on-Trent. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in local students’ education while enjoying the flexibility of a varied role.
About the Role:
As a Cover Teacher, you will:

Lead whole classes in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged with set work

Create a positive and focused learning environment, managing the classroom effectively

Support students with lesson content, ensuring learning goals are achieved
-
Confidently manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
-
Communicate any issues or concerns to relevant school staff
What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational or youth-focused role

Strong classroom management and communication skills
-
Confidence to deliver lessons across a variety of subjects

A positive, proactive attitude with a genuine passion for supporting student learning

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
