The Supply Register is delighted to be supporting Newcastle College in their search for an experienced and passionate Pastry Chef Lecturer to join the Hospitality & Catering team. This is a temporary role to support the department whilst the college recruits for a permanent post, and the successful candidate may be considered for the permanent vacancy.
About the Role
This role involves delivering advanced pastry and patisserie content at Level 4 and Level 5, supporting learners who are progressing into higher-level professional kitchen roles.
Key responsibilities include:

Delivering high-quality teaching in advanced pastry, patisserie, desserts, artisan baking and refined culinary techniques

Planning and preparing lessons that stretch and challenge learners at higher levels

Supporting learners in mastering complex pastry skills and industry-standard techniques

Assessing and providing detailed feedback to support learner progression

Maintaining a safe, professional kitchen environment with a strong focus on hygiene and organisation

Contributing to curriculum development and quality assurance
What We’re Looking For
-
Strong background in professional pastry work – patisserie, desserts, chocolate work, bakery, fine dining or hotel pastry
-
Experience teaching or training is desirable, but industry professionals with mentoring experience are encouraged to apply

Ability to inspire learners and deliver content at Level 4/5 (HE-level)

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to complete one)
