Procurement Officer
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30–4:30 or 9:00–5:00 (may vary)
Introduction
The Supply Register is proud to partner with St Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Academy Trust as a managed service provider. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join the Trust’s central team.
In this role, you will support the Procurement Manager in delivering efficient, transparent, and cost-effective procurement services across multiple schools—ensuring compliance, value for money, and strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing

Support the Procurement Manager in implementing procurement strategies and maintaining procurement plans.

Use e-tendering systems and digital platforms to streamline processes and ensure transparency.

Research markets, identify potential suppliers, and assess service quality.
Supplier & Contract Management

Assist in preparing and managing supplier contracts, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.

Monitor supplier performance and address issues promptly.

Support risk identification and mitigation strategies.
Purchase & Cost Management

Process purchase orders when required, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Maintain procurement records, pricing databases, and supplier details.

Conduct cost analysis and produce regular procurement activity reports.
Compliance & Best Practice

Ensure adherence to Trust procurement policies, legislation, and audit requirements.

Promote sustainable and ethical procurement practices.

Provide guidance and training on procurement procedures to staff.
Collaboration & Development

Work closely with school leaders and staff to meet procurement needs.

Contribute to process improvements and system updates.

Maintain professional knowledge through CPD and training opportunities.
Requirements
Essential:

Degree in finance, business, or a related field.

Procurement or purchasing qualification (e.g., CIPS).

Strong negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.

High attention to detail and the ability to work under deadlines.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable:

Experience in education or public sector procurement.

Familiarity with JCQ or other sector-specific compliance requirements.
