Exam Invigilator – Manchester
Days: Monday to Friday (term-time only, during exam seasons)
Hours: 8:30–11:00am / 12:00–4:00pm (hours may vary depending on exam timetable)
Introduction
Are you an experienced exam invigilator looking to support students during the exam periods, or are you seeking a new challenge to utilise your skills and knowledge in education, The Supply Register is recruiting for exam invigilators on behalf of a school in Manchester, the core function of the role is under the management and guidance of the schools exams officer, to take primary responsibility for the invigilation of all required exams and to support candidates in a calm and approachable manner whilst maintaining examination integrity.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare the exam hall, ensuring seating plans, papers and equipment are ready.

Welcome candidates, direct them to their seats and explain exam regulations.

Distribute exam materials and read any erratum notices when required.

Monitor attendance, behaviour and compliance with school and exam board rules.

Respond to candidate queries in line with regulations.

Report incidents factually and promptly to the Exams Officer.

Collect, check and securely deliver completed papers to the Exams Office.

Support candidates with access arrangements where applicable.

Follow safeguarding, child protection and confidentiality policies.

Assist in emergency situations (e.g. illness, fire evacuation).
Requirements

Previous experience in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.

Willingness to obtain (or already hold) a DBS certificate on the update service.

Two professional references from the past 24 months.

Right to work in the UK.
