Secondary Teaching Assistant – The Grange Academy, Runcorn

Salary: Up to £100 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role
The Supply Register is proud to be working in partnership with The Grange Academy in Runcorn to recruit enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants to support pupils in the secondary phase (ages 11–16).
We are seeking individuals with a passion for education and supporting young people, particularly those with SEND needs, including autism and SEMH. This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference in a supportive and high-achieving school community.
Key Responsibilities

Provide in-class support for pupils aged 11–16, helping them to access the curriculum

Deliver small-group or 1:1 interventions, tailored to individual needs

Support students with additional learning needs, including those with Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs)

Promote positive behaviour and encourage independent learning

Work closely with teaching staff, the SENCO, and pastoral teams to ensure each student receives the support they need

Assist with record-keeping and contribute to planning and review meetings as required

Requirements

Previous experience working in a school or educational setting (desirable but not essential)

A genuine passion for supporting children and young people

Strong communication skills and a flexible, team-oriented approach

Patience, empathy, and an ability to build positive relationships with pupils

GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)

Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one through The Supply Register)
