Hazelbeck School is a highly respected specialist setting within Beckfoot Trust, supporting pupils with a wide range of complex needs including severe and profound learning difficulties, autism, communication challenges and sensory needs. The Supply Register is delighted to be recruiting dedicated, compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join the team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people who require personalised, high‑quality support.

About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex needs through:

1:1 and small‑group learning support
-
Working towards EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
-
Using communication strategies such as visual supports, PECs or alternative communication systems
-
Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and wellbeing
-
Providing personal care where required
-
Supporting sensory‑based learning and structured routines
-
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and wider support teams
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
-
Experience supporting children or adults with SEN (school or care setting)
-
A patient, resilient and nurturing approach
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
-
Willingness to support personal care needs
-
A DBS registered on the Update Service (essential)
