Personal Development Coach

Location: New College Durham
Contract: Temporary, ongoing
Hours: 1 x 5 days per week (37 hours), 1 x 4 days per week (approx. 33 hours)
Pay: £22.12 per hour including holiday pay
Employer: The Supply Register (on behalf of New College Durham)

We are currently recruiting a Personal Development Coach to support New College Durham. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced student support professionals, coaches, mentors, or individuals with experience working with young people in an education setting.

The Role

As a Personal Development Coach, you will support learners through personalised development sessions, helping them achieve their goals, develop employability skills, and progress towards their intended destinations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering Personal Development and Employability sessions to FE students
  • Supporting learners with target setting, action planning, and progress reviews
  • Promoting employability skills, CV writing, job searching, and career planning
  • Monitoring learner progress and maintaining accurate student records
  • Supporting student wellbeing, resilience, safeguarding, and professional standards

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with young people or students within an educational setting
  • Strong communication, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Ability to motivate and support learners to achieve their goals
  • Experience managing student caseloads or providing pastoral support (desirable)
  • Knowledge of employability, careers education, or personal development programmes (desirable)
  • Confidence using ICT systems and maintaining learner records
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
