Location: Wolverhampton
Contract Type: Part-Time, Temporary (8.5 – 24.5 hours per week)
Salary: £17.62 – £19.91 per hour (inclusive of statutory holiday pay)

The Supply Register is proud to be working in partnership with an established educational organisation in Wolverhampton to appoint several Learning Support Mentors on a temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join a supportive and inclusive team, providing high-quality learning support to students across a range of curriculum areas.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored academic and pastoral support to individual learners or small groups, helping them to engage fully in learning activities.

  • Assist teaching staff in delivering sessions, adapting materials and approaches to meet diverse learner needs.

  • Support the inclusion and independence of learners with additional or special educational needs.

  • Contribute to individual learning plans and maintain accurate records of learner progress and support.

  • Embed English, Maths, Equality & Diversity, and safeguarding principles in all aspects of learner support.

  • Communicate effectively with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent learner progress.

 

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/Level 2 or above, or willingness to achieve these during probation.

  • Experience working with young people or adults in an educational or support setting.

  • Understanding of a range of learning needs and strategies to overcome barriers to learning.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.

  • Good IT skills, including experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online learning platforms.

Desirable:

  • Relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Learning Support, Teaching Assistant, or a related area.

  • Experience supporting learners with SEND or additional needs within a further education or school environment.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding, wellbeing, and behaviour management strategies.

Previous experience in similar role, specifically within Further Education
