We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Student Support Workers to join our team and support students in their education and personal development.
We are particularly interested in applicants with a sporty, outdoor or activity-based background who enjoy working with young people and can build positive, trusting relationships.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed.
- Ideally have experience working with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) students.
- Have a sport, outdoor education, coaching or similar background.
- Be confident, patient, resilient and able to engage students who may find mainstream education challenging.
- Be available Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm.
- Hold a full driving licence and be able to drive.
- Have achieved Grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Be a positive role model with excellent communication skills.
- Be able to work as part of a supportive team while also using initiative.
What the role involves
As a Student Support Worker, you will work closely with students to help them engage with education, develop confidence and achieve their potential. This may include providing one-to-one or small-group support, helping students manage challenges, encouraging positive behaviour and taking part in practical, sporting and outdoor activities.
Experience working with SEND, SEMH or students who have struggled within mainstream education would be highly desirable.
