Job Title: HR Coordinator
Reporting to: Managing Director (line management); Fractional HRD (functional reporting)
Salary: £30,000 to £35,000per annum
Contract type: Full time or Part time (0.6-0.8 FTE)
About the Role
Provide day-to-day transactional HR and internal recruitment support to a fast-growing, founder-led business of around 60 people. This is a hands-on role covering internal recruitment coordination, onboarding, HR administration, and first-line employee queries – giving one person a broad view across the employee lifecycle while the organisation continues to scale.
There is genuine scope for the right person to grow with the business, potentially progressing towards a more specialist or advisory HR or talent role as the function develops.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Recruitment support
-
Coordinate recruitment activity end-to-end: posting roles, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and liaising with hiring managers and candidates
-
Support the offer and pre-employment check process (references, right-to-work, contracts)
-
Help maintain a positive candidate experience as the business scales its hiring
Onboarding
-
Own the new starter process: inductions, paperwork, system access requests, and first-week check-ins
-
Continuously improve onboarding materials as the business and roles evolve
HR administration & data
-
Maintain accurate, compliant HR files (physical and digital) for all employees
-
Manage and update HR data/HRIS, ensuring records are current for headcount, absence, and reporting purposes
-
Support production of routine HR reports and metrics
First-line HR support
-
Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day employee queries (holiday, policies, benefits), escalating more complex matters appropriately
-
Signpost employees to relevant policies and self-service resources
-
Help maintain and update the policy library as things change
General
-
Provide flexible support across HR and, where needed, adjacent functions as priorities shift
-
Contribute ideas for improving processes as the organisation grows – much of what this role covers will evolve over time
-
Other tasks which may be reasonably required from time to time
What Working Here Is Like:
-
Priorities can shift quickly – you might be sourcing candidates one day and updating HR systems the next
-
Processes are still being built in places, so you’ll sometimes be working things out as you go rather than following an established playbook
-
Investment-backed and founder-led, so pace and visibility are both high – decisions get made fast
