*The Role*

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and skilled *Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)* to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of teachers and senior leaders to plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities for individuals, groups, and whole classes. You will also play a key role in supporting pupils’ wellbeing and personal development.

This role requires flexibility, initiative, and the ability to work collaboratively within a vibrant school community.

*Main Responsibilities*

* Support the teaching and learning of pupils across the school, including delivering planned lessons to whole classes in the teacher’s absence.

* Work closely with teachers to plan and prepare learning activities that meet the needs of all pupils.

* Deliver targeted interventions to support pupils’ progress in literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas.

* Support the assessment of pupils’ learning by observing, recording, and providing feedback to teachers.

* Assist with the preparation and organisation of learning materials and classroom resources.

* Promote positive behaviour and attitudes in line with the school’s Christian values and behaviour policy.

* Support children with additional needs, working closely with the SENCo and external professionals as required.

* Supervise pupils during break and lunch times as part of the school’s duty rota.

* Contribute to whole-school activities, events, and ethos.

*Person Specification*

*Essential:

* HLTA qualification or equivalent (Level 4 or above).

* Proven experience working within a primary school setting.

* Ability to deliver lessons and manage a classroom effectively.

* Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* A positive, nurturing approach to supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.

* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

*Desirable

* Experience supporting children with SEND.

* First Aid qualification.

* Experience in leading small group interventions or specific curriculum areas.
