Contract: Temporary
Hours: 37 hours per week (24 teaching hours, 13 preparation and marking hours)
Pay: £24.43 – £42.03 per hour including holiday pay

We are currently recruiting a Lecturer & Programme Lead – Health to support Northumberland College on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health professional or Health Lecturer to join a successful curriculum team and support learners studying health-related qualifications within a Further Education environment.
The Role
As a Lecturer & Programme Lead – Health, you will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across Health programmes, helping learners develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for careers within healthcare and care settings.
Key responsibilities include:
• Delivering Health and Social Care related lessons to FE students
• Teaching NCFE Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Health programmes
• Planning, preparing, and assessing learning in line with curriculum requirements
• Supporting learners with target setting, progress reviews, and achievement of qualifications
• Delivering both theoretical and vocational content linked to healthcare settings
• Monitoring learner progress and maintaining accurate student records
• Supporting learners to develop employability and sector-specific skills
• Promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity, and professional standards within the classroom
What We’re Looking For
• A Level 3 qualification or above in a Health-related subject
• A Level 5 teaching qualification
• Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)
• Previous experience teaching within Further Education is desirable
• An adult health vocational background is highly desirable
• Experience working within healthcare environments such as hospitals, care homes, or community care settings
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Ability to motivate and support learners to achieve their goals
• Experience delivering classroom-based and vocational learning
• Enhanced DBS Child Workforce and Child Barred List check (or willingness to obtain)
