Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team on a long-term supply basis. This role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil in EYFS with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, alongside afternoon support within a Year 1/2 class.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a real difference in their early education.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil in EYFS with additional needs

  • Implement personalised strategies to support learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to follow individual support plans

  • Support engagement through structured play and learning activities

  • Assist within a Year 1/2 classroom in the afternoons

  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment


Requirements

  • Experience working with children with ASD and/or ADHD (preferred)

  • Understanding of EYFS and KS1 learning environments

  • Patient, adaptable, and proactive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
