The Supply Register is working in partnership with West Lancashire College to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated English Lecturer to deliver GCSE English and Functional Skills English to further education learners.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate English specialist who can engage learners, deliver high-quality lessons and support students in achieving their academic goals.
About the Role
As an English Lecturer, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging GCSE and Functional Skills English lessons to learners across the college. You will help students develop their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills, supporting them to build confidence and achieve their qualifications.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging GCSE and Functional Skills English lessons.

Support learners in developing their English skills and working towards their qualifications.

Assess, monitor and track learner progress, providing constructive feedback.

Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet different learning needs and abilities.

Create an inclusive and positive learning environment.
-
Prepare learners for examinations and assessments.
-
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student achievement and progression.
Ideal Candidate
-
Holds a relevant English degree or equivalent subject qualification.
-
Holds a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, Level 5 Diploma in Education or equivalent).
-
Has experience delivering GCSE and/or Functional Skills English.

Has strong classroom management and communication skills.
-
Can motivate and engage learners from a range of backgrounds and abilities.
-
Is passionate about helping students develop their skills and achieve their potential.
-
Must hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
