Full‑Time DT Teacher
Location: Beckfoot Thornton School, Bradford
Start Date: Immediate Start / October 2026
Contract: Full‑Time
Beckfoot Thornton School is seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join their vibrant and supportive department. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire creativity, innovation and practical problem‑solving skills across a diverse student body.
Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher, this role offers the chance to make a real impact within a forward‑thinking school community.
About the Role
You will play a key role in delivering high‑quality Design & Technology teaching across relevant Key Stages, including:

Planning and delivering engaging, practical DT lessons
-
Encouraging creativity, innovation and independent thinking
-
Assessing, monitoring and reporting on student progress
-
Contributing to curriculum development within the DT department
-
Supporting extracurricular activities such as DT clubs, STEM initiatives or project exhibitions
The Ideal Candidate Will:
-
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
-
Have experience teaching DT in a secondary school setting (ECTs welcome)

Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Design & Technology
-
Be committed to high standards of teaching and learning
-
Possess excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills
-
Hold a DBS registered on the Update Service (essential)
