Childcare Lecturer

Location: EPNE – Sunderland Bede Campus
Contract: Temporary, until permanent vacancies are filled
Hours: 37 hours per week (24 teaching hours, 13 planning and marking hours)
Pay: £24.43 – £42.03 per hour including holiday pay
Employer: The Supply Register (on behalf of EPNE)

We are currently recruiting a Childcare Lecturer to support EPNE at the Sunderland Bede Campus. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced lecturers and childcare professionals with a passion for supporting students within a Further Education environment.

The Role

As a Childcare Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across childcare programmes, helping learners develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed to succeed in the sector.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering Childcare lessons to FE students
• Planning, preparing, and assessing learning in line with curriculum requirements
• Supporting learners with target setting, progress reviews, and achievement of qualifications
• Monitoring learner progress and maintaining accurate student records
• Promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity, and professional standards within the classroom

What We’re Looking For

• Experience teaching Childcare within a Further Education setting
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Ability to motivate and support learners to achieve their goals
• Relevant Childcare qualification
• Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one (desirable)
• Confidence using ICT systems and maintaining learner records
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)

Previous childcare teaching experience in FE, ideally on T Levels, Industry experience

at least Level 4 Childcare, English and Maths at Level 2 and ideally a Level 5 teaching qualification
