Day‑to‑Day, Short‑Term & Long‑Term Supply Staff Secondary or FE Experience Required Hired Through The Supply Register

Birley Academy in Sheffield works in partnership with The Supply Register, who manage all cover requirements for the school. We are now recruiting experienced, flexible, and reliable supply staff to support Birley Academy across a range of day‑to‑day, short‑term, and long‑term assignments.

These roles are ideal for individuals with a background in secondary education or further education (FE) who are confident supporting learning in a busy, fast‑paced school environment.

About the Roles

We are seeking staff who can step into a variety of classroom‑based and support‑based positions, including:

General classroom cover
Subject‑specific cover
Behaviour support
Learning support
Intervention and small‑group work

All roles are offered on a supply basis through The Supply Register.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver pre‑prepared lesson materials or support classroom teaching
Maintain a positive and productive learning environment
Manage behaviour in line with school policies
Support pupils with learning, engagement, and progress
Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff

Requirements

Experience working in a secondary school or FE setting (essential)
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
Ability to follow lesson plans and maintain classroom routines
A proactive, professional, and adaptable approach
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
