SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Beckfoot Thornton, Bradford
Contract: Full‑Time, Term‑Time Only
Start Date: ASAP
Beckfoot Thornton is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their inclusive, ambitious and supportive school community. Guided by the Trust ethos of “No child left behind”, the school is committed to ensuring every learner can thrive — including those with additional needs.
This long‑term role is ideal for someone with experience supporting pupils aged 11–18 with a range of learning needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and the SEN department to ensure students with additional needs can access learning, feel supported, and make progress. You will play a key role in:

Providing 1:1 or small‑group support

Delivering targeted interventions and personalised learning plans
-
Creating a positive, safe and engaging learning environment

Supporting emotional wellbeing, resilience and independence

Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO and wider staff

Contributing to record‑keeping and progress monitoring
What We’re Looking For

A caring, patient and emotionally intelligent individual
-
Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school‑based experience desirable but not essential)

Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
-
A proactive approach and commitment to the Beckfoot Trust ethos of clarity, teamwork and high performance

A DBS registered on the Update Service (essential)
