Job Summary

The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of Carlisle College for a passionate and committed Health & Social Care Lecturer to join their Further Education provision.

This is an excellent opportunity to teach and support learners studying Health & Social Care programmes, helping them develop the knowledge, skills, and understanding required for progression into employment or higher education within the sector.


About the Role

As a Health & Social Care Lecturer, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching across Health & Social Care programmes

  • Teach learners at Level 1–3 (e.g. BTEC, CACHE, or equivalent qualifications)

  • Plan lessons, assessments, and marking in line with awarding body requirements

  • Support learners with academic progress, pastoral needs, and progression planning

  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Health & Social Care department


Requirements

Essential:

  • A relevant qualification in Health & Social Care or a related discipline

  • Experience teaching or delivering training within an FE or post-16 setting

  • Strong subject knowledge and a learner-focused approach

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills

Desirable:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)

  • Industry experience within health, social care, or related services

  • Experience delivering BTEC, CACHE, or similar vocational qualifications
