Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – Non-Verbal Student)

Location: Alexandra Park, Oldham
Start Date: 17th November
Contract Type: Full-time / Long-term placement
Salary: Dependent on experience


About the Role

Pinnacle Trust are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team at Alexandra Park, Oldham, supporting a non-verbal student on a 1:1 basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey, providing tailored support to meet individual learning and communication needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 classroom support for a non-verbal student with additional needs.

  • Implement strategies to support communication, emotional regulation, and engagement.

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning plans.

  • Use alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC (training can be provided).

  • Promote inclusion and a positive learning environment for all students.


Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting students with SEN, particularly non-verbal or communication needs.

  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable but not essential).

  • Available to start 17th November.
