Deputy Head of Year
Contract: Full-time / Temp to Permanent
Salary: pro-rata £24,840 – £29,690 per annum)

The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Head of Year to join our pastoral team. Working closely with the Head of Year, you will play a key role in supporting the well-being, attendance, behaviour, and academic progress of students across a year group.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about young people’s development and eager to make a real difference to their school experience.
Key Responsibilities

Support the Head of Year in promoting high standards of attendance, punctuality, and behaviour.

Provide day-to-day pastoral care and guidance to students, acting as a point of contact for parents and carers.

Assist in monitoring academic progress and implementing strategies to raise achievement.

Contribute to safeguarding and child protection processes in line with school policy.

Support the organisation of year group events such as assemblies, parents’ evenings, and enrichment activities.

Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to ensure consistent pastoral support across the school.

Experience in a pastoral or educational support role is desirable, but not essential — we welcome applications from individuals with transferable skills from youth work, social care, or similar sectors.
