We are seeking an enthusiastic, well-qualified Specialist Geography Teacher to join our dedicated and high-performing Humanities department. The successful candidate will have a passion for Geography and a commitment to high academic standards, while supporting the Catholic ethos of the school.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and challenging Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5, if applicable).

Plan and teach lessons that inspire curiosity about the world and develop critical thinking and geographical skills.

Assess, monitor, and report on students’ progress effectively, ensuring all pupils are supported to achieve their full potential.

Contribute to the development and enrichment of the Geography curriculum in line with current pedagogy and subject knowledge.

Promote a love of Geography through extra-curricular activities, trips, and fieldwork opportunities.

Uphold the Catholic values of the school and contribute to its faith life and wider community.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to support whole-school initiatives and student wellbeing.
Person Specification
Essential:
-
A degree in Geography or a closely related field.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.

A strong understanding of the Geography curriculum and current teaching methods.

A commitment to inclusive education and differentiated teaching.

Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

A willingness to support and uphold the Catholic ethos of the school.
Desirable:

Experience teaching A-Level Geography.

Experience working in a faith-based or values-driven educational setting.

Willingness to contribute to the spiritual and pastoral life of the school.

Familiarity with Catholic Social Teaching and how it relates to global citizenship and sustainability.
