“At its heart, this has always been about doing the right thing for young people-as they have nothing to give you back.”
Baljinder Kuller, Founder
As we reflect on the last decade, we’re incredibly proud of what has been achieved and even more excited about what lies ahead.
A vision built on doing things differently
The Supply Register was founded with a simple yet powerful ambition: to create a smarter, fairer, and more effective way to connect schools with talented education professionals.
The education recruitment landscape was ready for change. Schools needed a more transparent, cost-effective solution, while candidates deserved greater support, fairness, and access to meaningful opportunities.
“A decade ago, the sector was dominated by traditional bricks-and-mortar recruitment agencies; we brought something new. Something different. Something that others now try to replicate, and I take that as a compliment.”
Baljinder Kuller, Founder
From day one, our mission has been to challenge convention and deliver recruitment solutions that genuinely work for education.
10 years of impact
Over the past decade, The Supply Register has grown into one of the UK’s leading education recruitment partners, supporting hundreds of schools, academies, trusts, colleges, and nurseries nationwide.
Every placement represents more than a vacancy filled. It represents continuity for pupils, support for school leaders, and new opportunities for talented professionals.
In education recruitment, trust is earned through consistency, reliability, transparency, and a genuine commitment to doing the right thing.
These principles have guided every decision we’ve made over the last 10 years.
“Since we started The Supply Register in 2016, we’ve been passionate about how we do things: we’re always committed to ethical, authentic practices that support our partner schools, colleges and candidates.”
Baljinder Kuller, Founder
Our values remain as relevant today as they were when the business was founded:
- Brave: We have never been afraid to challenge the status quo when it means delivering better outcomes for schools and candidates.
- Genuine: We believe in being respectful, fair, and transparent in everything we do.
- Imaginative: Innovation has always been central to our approach, helping us develop new ways to support education communities.
- Reliable: We strive to be trusted partners that schools and candidates can depend on every day.
These values continue to shape our culture, our partnerships, and our future direction.
Supporting schools through innovation
One of the defining features of the last decade has been our commitment to innovation. As education recruitment has evolved, we’ve invested heavily in technology designed specifically to support the sector. Anthony O’Sullivan, Head of Software Development, started his journey with us in 2016 as an IT Services Manager. Looking back, he can clearly see the benefits that investment has brought to the sector.
“Developing tsr365 has been an incredibly rewarding journey. We’ve continually evolved the platform to make life easier for clients, candidates, and suppliers, and seeing how it helps people work more efficiently every day is a constant reminder of the value technology can bring.”
Anthony O’Sullivan, Head of Software Development
Our bespoke workforce management platform, tsr365, has transformed how schools and trusts manage staffing requirements. By combining workforce planning, supply bookings, compliance management, reporting, and candidate management in a single platform, tsr365 helps education providers:
- Reduce administrative burden
- Improve workforce visibility
- Access high-quality, pre-vetted staff faster
- Strengthen compliance processes
- Generate meaningful workforce insights
- Reduce agency spend and improve efficiency
For candidates, the platform delivers greater flexibility and control, making it easier to manage availability, access opportunities, and build rewarding careers.
Creating opportunities for education professionals
Over the last decade, we’ve helped thousands of candidates find meaningful work opportunities through our growing network of partner schools and trusts.
We invest time in ensuring that candidates are the right cultural and operational fit. This approach benefits trusts by providing familiar faces who return to teach and candidates who understand expectations, become familiar faces, delivering greater consistency, ultimately benefiting pupils.
It also allows candidates to work flexibly across academies within our trusts, strengthening workforce stability and increasing the likelihood of long-term or permanent appointments.
As the education workforce continues to evolve, more professionals are choosing flexible working arrangements that provide greater work-life balance and career variety.
“For me, working as a supply teacher is perfect for my lifestyle. I aim to work about 3 days a week, I have no commitment or additional workload, and I can leave at the end of the day without that worry. I previously worked full time as a teacher and the work/life balance is much better now.”
Venetia, Supply Teacher
Our partnership-led approach ensures candidates benefit from:
- Consistent work opportunities
- Transparent pay structures
- Access to trusted schools and trusts
- Dedicated local support
- Career development opportunities
- Routes into permanent employment
Whether supporting experienced teachers, graduates entering the profession, or individuals returning to education after a career break, we remain committed to helping people build fulfilling careers.
“What attracted me was the way The Supply Register partners directly with schools and trusts, rather than operating as a purely transactional agency. I like that they focus on building long-term, consistent relationships with schools and staff, and that they support both mainstream and SEN settings.”
Chukwuka, SEN TA
Stronger together
None of our achievements would have been possible without the incredible people and organisations that have been part of our journey.
Our success is built on the people behind it. While our team has grown too large to recognise everyone individually, we remain incredibly grateful for the dedication, talent, and enthusiasm that continue to drive us forward. Samantha Shaw, Regional Partnership Manager, reflects on this journey:
“My time at The Supply Register has been truly rewarding. I’ve been able to grow my career while deepening my understanding of the education sector, and I’ve had the chance to work closely with so many supportive people across the business. One of the things I value most is how openly ideas are welcomed here — the encouragement to contribute, collaborate, and shape positive outcomes has made me feel genuinely supported in my progression. It’s been inspiring to watch the business grow and evolve, and I’m grateful to be part of that development.”
Samantha Shaw, Regional Partnership Manager
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our partner schools, academies, trusts, colleges, and nurseries; our dedicated bank workforce; our agency partners; our valued suppliers and strategic partners; every member of The Supply Register team; and the investors who have supported and backed us throughout our journey. Your trust, commitment, and collaboration have been instrumental in our success, and we are grateful for the role each of you has played in helping us grow and make a positive impact across the education sector.
Looking ahead
While we’re proud of the last 10 years, we believe the most exciting chapter is still to come. Education continues to evolve, bringing new opportunities and challenges for schools, trusts, and education professionals.
The Supply Register remains committed to delivering ethical, efficient, and innovative recruitment solutions that help education providers strengthen budgets, improve workforce planning, and create better learning environments for pupils.
Our mission remains unchanged: to provide recruitment solutions that are fair, transparent, and built around the needs of education.
10 years of growth.
10 years of innovation.
10 years of impact.
And this is only the beginning.
Here’s to the next decade of trust.
