The Supply Register is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Tourism and Aviation Lecturer to join Newcastle College. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of professionals in the tourism and aviation industries through engaging higher education teaching and academic support.
About the Role
As a Tourism and Aviation Lecturer, you will deliver high-quality teaching to Higher Education Level 5 and 6 learners. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons across Level 6 Tourism and Aviation modules, as well as Dissertation and Tourism and Events modules.
The successful candidate will be passionate about higher education teaching, able to bring real-world experience into the classroom, and committed to helping students achieve academic and professional success.
This is a part-time (0.4 FTE) ongoing position, starting in December.
Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging lectures and seminars for Level 5 and 6 Tourism and Aviation students

Teach and assess modules including Level 6 Tourism and Aviation, Dissertation, and Tourism and Events

Provide academic guidance and supervision to learners completing dissertations or research projects

Develop teaching materials and assessments aligned with course requirements

Contribute to curriculum planning and continuous improvement of the programme

Support learners’ academic, professional, and personal development
Requirements:

Ideally hold a Level 7 qualification (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Tourism, Aviation, Events, or a related subject

Applications from candidates with a Level 6 qualification and relevant industry or teaching experience will also be considered

Experience teaching or working in the higher education or further education sector

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Commitment to inclusive teaching and student success
Desirable:

Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent)

Experience supervising undergraduate dissertations

Knowledge of current trends and developments in the tourism and aviation sectors
