The Supply Register is proud to be working in partnership with Southport Learning Trust, supporting SEN schools across the Southport area. We are currently looking for experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team and support pupils with a range of complex and additional needs.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils with their learning, development, communication, and day-to-day wellbeing.

You may be supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and other complex or additional needs. The role is hands-on and rewarding, and you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide the individual support each pupil needs.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils with their learning and development.

  • Helping children participate in classroom activities and their wider school experience.

  • Supporting pupils with communication and social development.

  • Assisting with personal care where required.

  • Supporting pupils with their daily routines and activities.

  • Promoting independence and encouraging pupils to develop their skills.

  • Creating a safe, positive, and inclusive environment.

  • Working closely with teachers and other members of the school team.

Who We’re Looking For

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant.

  • Experience supporting children or adults with PMLD or complex needs.

  • A background in care, healthcare, support work, or education.

  • Experience providing personal care or supporting individuals with daily living activities.

  • A patient, caring, and positive approach.

  • The ability to build strong relationships with children and young people.

  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals to reach their potential.

Experience within a school environment is beneficial, but relevant care and support experience will also be considered.

DBS Requirement

To work in these roles, you will need to have a fully enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through The Supply Register.

Why Work With Us?

Working through The Supply Register gives you the opportunity to gain experience across schools within the Southport Learning Trust while receiving ongoing support from our dedicated team.

If you’re passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs and want to make a genuine difference every day, we’d love to hear from you!
