Job Summary

The Supply Register is partnering with Newcastle College to build a talent pool of Science Lecturers for Higher Education (HE) provision. We are seeking expressions of interest from subject specialists who can contribute to undergraduate-level Science teaching.

This opportunity is well suited to professionals looking for flexible HE teaching work, temporary assignments, or future permanent roles.

Subjects of Interest

We welcome applications from lecturers specialising in:

  • Biology

  • Chemistry

  • Physics

  • Applied / Laboratory Sciences

About the Role

Responsibilities may include:

  • Delivering Science teaching at HE / undergraduate level

  • Preparing course materials and assessing academic work

  • Supporting students with academic development and progression

  • Contributing to quality assurance and academic standards

  • Working collaboratively within an HE teaching environment

Requirements

  • A degree (or higher) in a relevant Science discipline

  • Teaching experience within Higher Education or equivalent level

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, HEA Fellowship, or similar – desirable)

  • Strong subject knowledge and academic delivery skills

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
