Facilities Officer/Caretaker
Lewisham College (part of NCG) is working in partnership with The Supply Register to recruit a reliable and proactive Facilities Officer/Caretaker to join the team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical maintenance skills who enjoys working in a busy educational environment and takes pride in maintaining safe, clean, and welcoming facilities.
Working Hours
This role offers flexible working hours with a rotating shift pattern:
- 5:30am – 1:30pm
- 10:30am – 6:30pm
- 1:30pm – 9:30pm
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and securing the college campus (key holding duties)
- Carrying out reactive maintenance and minor repairs
- Basic handyman tasks, including:
- Minor plumbing repairs (e.g. blockages and small leaks)
- Basic carpentry
- Setting up rooms and furniture for college events
- Completing regular housekeeping, operational, and health & safety checks
- Assisting with occasional grounds maintenance duties
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has basic maintenance and handyman skills
- Is reliable, flexible, and able to work independently
- Takes a proactive approach to health and safety
- Has excellent organisational skills and a positive attitude
Essential
- The Supply Register and NCG South London Colleges are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All applicants will be required to complete appropriate safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within a school, college, or other educational setting
