The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of Sunderland Sixth Form for a Law & Criminology Lecturer to join their successful sixth form provision.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lecturer, Teacher, or industry professional with expertise in Law and/or Criminology to inspire and support students studying at advanced level. Initially offered as a 6-week assignment, this position has the potential to become a longer-term or permanent opportunity for the right candidate.
The Role
As a Law & Criminology Lecturer, you will:

Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons in Law and Criminology

Support students studying Level 3 qualifications
-
Plan, prepare, and deliver inclusive and inspiring learning sessions
-
Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
-
Support learners in achieving their academic goals and progression aspirations
-
Create a positive and professional learning environment
-
Contribute to high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement
Timetable
Wednesday: 9:00am – 12:15pm
Thursday: 8:30am – 4:30pm
Friday: 1:00pm – 4:15pm
Total: 15 hours per week
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
-
Relevant qualification in Law, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or a related subject
-
Experience teaching, training, or delivering learning within Law and/or Criminology
-
Strong communication and organisational skills
-
Ability to motivate and engage post-16 learners
-
Passion for education and learner success
Desirable:
-
Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DET, DTLLS or equivalent)
-
Experience teaching A Level, BTEC, Applied Law, or Criminology qualifications
-
Industry experience within legal, criminal justice, policing, probation, or related sectors
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
