Looking for flexible teaching opportunities in Further Education?
The Supply Register is working in partnership with Newcastle College to recruit Engineering Lecturers to support across their engineering provision. This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a well-established college, with the potential to secure longer-term or permanent roles.
Whether you’re an experienced Engineering Lecturer or an engineering professional looking to move into education, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role
You’ll support learners across a range of engineering programmes, helping them develop both technical knowledge and practical, hands-on skills.

Deliver engaging lessons across Level 1–Level 3 (BTEC / T Level / Apprenticeships)

Teach areas such as Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or General Engineering

Support practical workshop sessions and demonstrations
-
Promote safe working practices and health & safety compliance
-
Monitor learner progress and provide clear, constructive feedback

Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
We welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds:
Essential:
-
Experience in Engineering (teaching, training, or industry)
-
Strong practical and theoretical knowledge
-
Ability to support both classroom and workshop-based learning
-
Strong communication and organisational skills
-
A flexible and reliable approach
Desirable:
-
Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DET)
-
Experience within Further Education
-
Experience delivering BTEC, T Level, or apprenticeship programmes
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
