About the School:
We are a thriving secondary school in Barnet committed to providing high-quality education in a supportive and inclusive environment. We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to ensure lessons run smoothly when teaching staff are absent.
Job Purpose:
The Cover Supervisor will supervise classes across a range of subjects, maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement while following lesson plans provided by teaching staff. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a school environment and make a positive impact on students’ learning.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise classes and maintain a safe, positive learning environment.

Follow lesson plans provided by teachers and support students in completing set tasks.

Ensure students remain on task and adhere to school behaviour policies.

Monitor and report on student behaviour and progress to teachers.

Assist with the preparation of classroom resources as needed.

Support the school’s ethos of inclusion, respect, and high expectations.
Qualifications and Experience:

Experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Strong communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.

Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently.

Patience, empathy, and a professional attitude.

Relevant qualifications (e.g., GCSEs or equivalent) are advantageous.
