Multi-Site Caretaker / Maintenance Operative – Cornwall & Devon
Location: Covering school sites between Redruth & Bodmin and Liskeard & Dartington
Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday (working hours to be agreed)
Contract: Permanent, Term Time (plus agreed working pattern)
Start Date: ASAP
The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of a Multi Academy Trust for two Multi-Site Caretakers / Maintenance Operatives to join their Estates Team.
This is a varied, hands-on role supporting multiple school sites, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure buildings and grounds remain safe, secure and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple school sites.
- Undertake basic repairs including carpentry, plumbing, painting, decorating and general building maintenance.
- Complete routine site inspections and health & safety checks.
- Ensure school buildings and grounds are safe, secure and well maintained.
- Carry out minor repairs to doors, locks, fixtures and fittings.
- Support with grounds maintenance and the upkeep of external areas.
- Liaise with contractors and monitor works carried out on site.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report any defects.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH and safeguarding procedures at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Caretaker, Site Assistant, Maintenance Operative or Facilities role.
- Practical experience carrying out general maintenance and repairs.
- A good understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between school sites.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
- Right to work in the UK.
