Lecturer & Programme Lead – Beauty Therapy
Location: Sunderland College – City Campus
Start Date: 14 September 2026
End Date: 26 October 2026
Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday–Friday
Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience
The Supply Register is currently recruiting on behalf of Sunderland College for an experienced Lecturer & Programme Lead – Beauty Therapy to join their team at the City Campus.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Beauty Therapy professional with industry and teaching experience to work within a Further Education environment, delivering high-quality teaching to Level 1 and Level 2 learners.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering City & Guilds Beauty Therapy programmes across Level 1 and Level 2.
The role includes:
- 24 hours per week of teaching/contact time
- 13 hours per week of paid planning, preparation and other duties
- Teaching across Monday–Friday
- Planning and delivering engaging theory and practical lessons
- Supporting learners with their progress, development and achievement
- Assessing learner work and providing constructive feedback
- Working collaboratively with the wider curriculum team
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates who have:
- A Level 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy – essential
- Relevant industry experience within Beauty Therapy
- Previous practical teaching/classroom experience
- A Level 5 teaching qualification – preferred
- Level 2 English and Maths – preferred
- An Assessor qualification – desirable
- The ability to deliver engaging practical and theory-based sessions
- The ability to motivate and support learners of different abilities
- Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service
Please note: The college can be flexible around the Level 5 teaching qualification and Level 2 English & Maths requirements for the temporary cover, provided candidates have strong relevant industry and practical teaching experience.
