Newcastle College is seeking a passionate and creative Art & Design Lecturer to join our team on a temporary, part-time basis. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic practitioner who is committed to inspiring learners and supporting them to develop their creative, technical and professional skills.
About the Role
As a Temporary Art & Design Lecturer, you will deliver engaging, inclusive teaching across Art & Design programmes, supporting learners to achieve their full potential. You will plan and deliver lessons, assess student work, and contribute to a positive learning environment that encourages creativity and progression.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality teaching across Art & Design programmes

Plan lessons and learning activities aligned to the curriculum

Assess, mark and provide constructive feedback to learners

Support learners’ academic progress and creative development

Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment and progress

Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

Contribute to course development and quality assurance activities
About You
We are looking for someone who has:

Relevant qualifications and/or significant industry experience in Art & Design

Experience teaching or training learners (FE experience desirable but not essential)

Strong communication and organisational skills
-
The ability to motivate and inspire learners

Confidence using IT systems to support teaching and assessment
-
A commitment to inclusive practice and learner success
A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one) would be an advantage.
