️ School Catering Assistant – South Liverpool
Location: South Liverpool
Working Days: Monday to Friday, term time only
⏰ Hours: 10:00am – 2:00pm (hours may vary)
Pay: Weekly pay every Friday
Are you an experienced Catering Assistant looking for your next opportunity in a school environment?
We are currently recruiting for a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable Catering Assistant to join a school in South Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen and takes pride in providing fresh, wholesome and nutritious meals for children.
We’re looking for someone with a positive can-do attitude, excellent teamwork skills and previous experience in a catering, school kitchen or busy food service environment.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation, cooking, serving and presentation.

Complete washing up, cleaning and general kitchen duties to a high standard.

Ensure food is prepared safely and with careful consideration of allergies and special dietary requirements.

️ Follow food safety, health and safety and HSE procedures at all times.

Support the Cook/Catering Manager with stock control, recipe costing and record keeping.

Work effectively as part of the catering team and build positive relationships with pupils, school staff and colleagues.

Provide a friendly and professional service throughout the school day.

✅ Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by the Catering Manager.

Experienced in catering, food service or a busy kitchen environment.

️ Familiar with food hygiene, health and safety and safe working practices.

A strong team player who can also work independently and use their own initiative.

Friendly, approachable and committed to providing excellent service.

Confident with communication and interpersonal skills.

⚡ Reliable, organised and able to work efficiently in a busy environment.

Willing to undertake relevant training and professional development.

Requirements

Have, or be willing to obtain, a DBS certificate on the Update Service.

Provide a minimum of two references covering the last 24 months of employment.

Have the right to work in the UK.

️ Previous catering or kitchen experience is required.
