The Supply Register is looking for dedicated, caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join Tyne Coast College on a full-time, ongoing basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference to students’ lives. You’ll play an important role in helping learners overcome barriers, build confidence and develop the skills and independence they need to succeed both in education and beyond.
Whether you have previous experience as an LSA or have worked with young people or adults in a support, care, training or educational setting, we’d love to hear from you.
What will you be doing?
Working closely with teaching staff and support teams, you will help create an inclusive and encouraging environment where every learner has the opportunity to thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing in-class, one-to-one and small-group support across classroom, workshop and practical settings.
- Supporting students with SEND, learning difficulties and additional learning needs.
- Helping teaching staff deliver engaging, accessible and inclusive learning activities.
- Encouraging learners to participate, develop independence and achieve their goals.
- Supporting students with study skills, organisation, confidence and classroom engagement.
- Monitoring progress and sharing valuable feedback with tutors and support teams.
- Providing personal care support where required and appropriate.
- Promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the college.
- Building positive, supportive relationships that help students feel confident and valued.
What are we looking for?
Most importantly, we’re looking for people who are patient, compassionate and genuinely passionate about supporting others.
You’ll ideally have:
- Experience working with young people or adults in an educational, training, care or support environment.
- An understanding of SEND and additional learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, caring and encouraging approach.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider team.
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.
