About the Role
The Supply Register is currently recruiting passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join Tyne Coast College on a full-time temp basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to students by providing tailored support to learners with a range of additional learning needs. You will play an important role in creating a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment, helping students overcome barriers and achieve their academic, personal and progression goals.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide effective in-class, small-group and one-to-one support, adapting your approach to meet individual learner needs. You will help students build their confidence, develop independence and make meaningful progress throughout their learning programme.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide learning support to students within classroom, workshop, and practical settings.
- Support learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), learning difficulties, or additional support requirements.
- Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.
- Encourage student participation, independence, and achievement.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to tutors and support teams.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion at all times.
- Assist with personal care needs where required and appropriate.
- Support students with study skills, organisation, and classroom engagement.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with young people or adults in an educational, training, or support environment.
- Understanding of SEND and additional learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, caring, and supportive approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
