About the Role
As a Carpentry Lecturer at Kidderminster College, you will:
- Deliver engaging and practical lessons across Site Carpentry programmes from Level 1 to Level 3,
- Plan and prepare learning activities that meet curriculum and awarding body requirements,
- Support learners in developing their practical carpentry skills, technical knowledge, and industry awareness,
- Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement,
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment within workshop and classroom settings,
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure learners achieve successful outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
- A relevant Carpentry qualification at Level 3 or above,
- Industry experience within Site Carpentry or a related construction trade,
- Knowledge of City & Guilds qualifications and assessment requirements is desirable,
- Strong communication and organisational skills,
- A passion for supporting and developing learners,
- A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one) is desirable, along with a valid or update-service DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
