Character Education Teacher Required (Full-Time 

Location: Secondary Schools across Sittingbourne 
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-Time

Are you passionate about helping young people grow into confident, responsible and resilient individuals? We are seeking an enthusiastic Character Education Teacher to join secondary schools in Sittingbourne to deliver high-quality personal development education.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced teachers, PSHE specialists, or motivated educators looking to make a meaningful impact on the whole child — not just academic achievement.

The Role:

As a Character Education Teacher, you will be planning lessons, deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that help students develop vital life skills and values. You’ll support the Character Education curriculum across Key Stages 3–5, helping learners explore key areas such as:

  • Physical and mental well-being

  • Healthy relationships

  • Online safety and identity

  • Respect, diversity and personal responsibility

  • Preparation for adult life and future challenges

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Character Education lessons

  • Deliver content including PSHE, Citizenship, Values and Religious Education topics

  • Assess and support student progress in personal and social development

  • Foster a safe, inclusive learning environment

  • Collaborate with pastoral, teaching and leadership teams

  • Engage positively with colleagues, parents and the wider school community

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching/pastoral qualification

  • Strong understanding of personal development education and values-based learning

  • Ability to lead meaningful discussions and support emotional growth

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills

  • A reflective, enthusiastic and student-centred approach to teaching
