Job Summary

The Supply Register is working in partnership with Newcastle College to build a bank of Science Lecturers for Further Education (FE). We are inviting expressions of interest from qualified and experienced science teaching professionals for upcoming opportunities across the academic year.

This advert is ideal for lecturers seeking flexible teaching opportunities, temporary roles, or pathways into longer-term or permanent positions within FE.

Subjects of Interest

We are keen to hear from lecturers with experience in one or more of the following:

  • Biology

  • Chemistry

  • Physics

  • Applied Science

About the Role

Depending on programme needs, you may be required to:

  • Deliver engaging Science teaching at Level 2–3 (BTEC, A Level, Access, etc.)

  • Plan lessons, assess learner progress, and provide timely feedback

  • Support learners to achieve academic and progression outcomes

  • Maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment

  • Work collaboratively within an FE teaching team

Requirements

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)

  • Subject-specialist qualification in a Science discipline

  • Experience teaching Science within a Further Education setting

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
