The Supply Register is delighted to be supporting Newcastle College in recruiting a dedicated and experienced Functional Skills Maths Teacher for a full-time, permanent position. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the leading FE colleges in the North East and play a key role in supporting learners to achieve essential qualifications that open doors to further education, apprenticeships, and employment.
About the Role
-
Deliver high-quality and engaging Functional Skills Maths lessons (Entry Level to Level 2) to a diverse range of learners.

Plan, prepare, and assess learning to ensure progress for all students.

Support learners with varying abilities, helping them develop confidence and core numeracy skills.

Contribute to curriculum development and the wider maths department.

Provide learner feedback, intervention, and personalised support when needed.
What We’re Looking For
-
A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DET, QTLS or equivalent).

Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths in an FE, training provider, or similar setting.

Strong understanding of Functional Skills frameworks and assessment requirements.

Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

A passion for helping learners achieve essential life and work-based skills.

A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
