The Supply Register is currently building a bank of Travel & Tourism Lecturers to support Newcastle College with current and future teaching requirements. This is an expression of interest, ideal for candidates seeking flexible, temporary, or contract work within a Further Education environment.
The Role
As a Travel & Tourism Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and industry-relevant lessons to learners studying Travel & Tourism programmes. You may be teaching across a range of levels, supporting learners to develop subject knowledge, employability skills, and an understanding of the travel, aviation, tourism, and hospitality industries.
Key responsibilities may include:

Planning and delivering Travel & Tourism lessons in line with curriculum and awarding body requirements

Teaching both theory and practical elements of Travel & Tourism programmes

Assessing learner work and providing constructive feedback

Supporting learner progress, achievement, and employability

Contributing to course development and enrichment activities

Maintaining accurate records of learner progress and achievement
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
-
Experience teaching Travel & Tourism or a related subject
-
Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent), or relevant industry experience with willingness to work towards one
-
Strong communication and classroom management skills
-
Understanding of safeguarding and learner wellbeing
-
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable:
-
Experience teaching within a Further Education or post-16 setting
-
Knowledge of qualifications such as BTEC, NCFE, or similar
-
Recent industry experience within travel, tourism, or aviation
